SPAG is based at the Southwark Pensioners Centre 305 - 307 Camberwell Road SE5 0HQ and holds its meetings there. SPAG welcomes new members aged 50 and over.

SPAG campaigns for better pensions and better services - home care, residential care, hospital care, housing, transport and planning issues - for older people, both locally and nationally.

The Southwark Keep Our NHS Public branch was founded by SPAG members and grew out of their campaign, run over many years, against the closure of A & E services at the Maudsley Hospital.

SPAG is affiliated and sends delegates to the National Pensioners’ Convention and its regional group.  Alongside pensioners throughout the country it fights for the principles set out in the Pensioners’ Charter including the right to a pension above the poverty level for men and women and for free health care services.

Details of SPAG's current activities can be found in Diary Dates and the Campaigns Pages of this website and also in One in 5 Southwark Pensioners' Centre Newsletter.

Together we can make a difference to older people's lives both in Southwark and nationwide.
